Services for April Renee Highsmith of Thomasville are 4:00PM on Friday, March 14, 2003 at First Baptist Church. Rev. Greg Souders, Rev. Sherman Hall and Rev. Dr. Milton C. Gardner will officiate and interment is in Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers are Chris Rehberg, Jr., David Borden, Cody Bordon, David Robinson, Bolling Jones, III and Rob Kelly. Born April 22, 1985 in Thomasville she was the daughter of David Ralston and Wanda Jewell Morris Highsmith who survive. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Thomas County Central High School Cross Country team, PSO program, one of first five teenagers in the world to be a certified teacher in Evangelism Explosion, played piano and guitar, signed for deaf people, First Runner up for Thomas County Junior Miss 2002, finalist in Miss America Co-Ed Pageant, member of the National Honor Society and was accepted to The University of Georgia. Other survivors include sisters, Missy Highsmith Borden, Kristina Nichole Highsmith, paternal grandmother, Sarah Highsmith, maternal grandmother, Gail Morris, nephew, Bailey Borden, brother-in-law, David Borden all of Thomasville and several uncles, aunts and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Buddy Highsmith and Talmadge Morris. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Youth Evangalism Explosion International, c/o Calvary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel on Thursday from 7-9PM. Visitors may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com .
