A memorial service for Arthur Mobley Nolen, 94, of Pavo, will be held on Saturday, May 31st, at 2 p.m. at the Pavo United Methodist Church. The Rev. James Davis and Bob Slade will officiate. Mr. Nolen passed away May 17, 2014 at Golden Living Center. He served in World War II in the Infantry where he received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Born October 17, 1919 in Pavo, he was the son to the late Herbert Isaac and Ossie Lanier Nolen. He was married to Myrtle Shivers Nolen, who survives. Other survivors include daughter Mimi Parrish of Pavo; grandchildren Nolen Parrish and wife Nicole and Blake Parrish; sisters Helen Griffin of Virginia and Vivian Farquahar of Texas. He was preceded in death by sisters Mary Suber and husband Tom and Mrytice McGraw and husband Gene; brother Cabot Nolen and wife Jeanette; brothers-in-law Bob Griffin and Wesley Farguahar.
