July 13, 1936 — April 30, 2019

Services for Artie Lee Cone, 82, of Thomasville will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, May 3,2019 at Victory Fellowship Church and interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Cone was and will forever be an amazing husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, friend, and faithful servant. He was born in Boston, Georgia on July 13th, 1936 to Velma and Artie Cone, Sr. and lived in Thomas County his whole life. Artie proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1954 – 1962. He married his wife, Janie Lowe Cone on September 22, 1967. Artie served Thomas County as a skilled electrician and he owned Cone Electrical Service. He was a loving and devoted father to his son, Kenneth Cone and his daughter, Leslie Cone Bennett; and he was loved and cherished by his beloved grandchildren, grandsons, Buck Bennett, Ben Bennett, and Will Cone; and granddaughters, Keila Cone, Olivia Cone, and Katybelle Bennett. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brothers, Heyward, Amanuel, and Tommy Cone. Survivors include wife, children, son-in-law, Matt Bennett, daughter-in-law, Michele Cone, brother, Lavon Cone, sister, Wanda Reichert, and many loved sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nephews, and nieces. Artie lived his life for his family and for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was known by some as “Nude,” to many as “Mr. Fix It,” and still to others as a living breathing superhero. To his children and grandchildren, he was the man who could solve any problem; and he always did. Artie’s legacy of devotion, servitude, and unconditional love will be forever treasured by his family. He left this earth on April 30th, 2019 and was escorted to Heaven with his family and friends singing and surrounding him. No doubt, he was greeted with his Father’s voice saying, “Well done thy good and faithful servant.” In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.( www.stjude.org/donate ) or Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 41 Perimeter Center E, St 550, Atlanta, Ga 30346( www.alzfdn.org ).
