Audrey Gwen Daniell

Graveside services for Audrey Gwen Daniell will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at 3PM at Salem Cemetery in Havana, Florida with Rev. Burns Willis officiating. She passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2012 in Thomasville, Ga., at the age of 77. She was preceded in death by her parents Maurice and Audrey Daniell, and her brother, Monteque Daniell. She is survived by her brother Monroe Daniell, and many cousins. Gwen was born in Tyler, Texas and grew up in Troup, Texas. She attended Tyler Junior College where she was a member of the Apache Belles Drill Team and performed all over the country. She graduated from North Texas State University and taught elementary school for 37 years at Port Authur, Texas. Each year she returned to Thomasville to spend summers and holidays with her family. She attended Thomasville First United Methodist Church, while retaining her membership at Carlisle United Methodist Church in Carlisle, Texas. Gwen had an adventurous spirit, a phenomenal memory for dates and names, was a fan of all sports, and loved to travel. Upon retiring to Thomasville, she enjoyed volunteering at the Thomas County Food Bank. Gwen was devoted to her family and friends and will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 5PM – 7PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Thomas County Food Bank, P.O.
