Services for Bailey Alexander Shepherd, 68, of Thomasville, are at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Saint Thomas Episcopal Church. The Rev. William N. McQueen III will officiate and interment is in Fredonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Shepherd died Aug. 4 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born April 22, 1941, she was the daughter of the late William Walker and Elise Clarke Alexander. She was a homemaker and a member of Saint Thomas Episcopal Church. She was also a member of the Colonial Dames and Daughters of the Confederacy. Survivors include a nephew, W. Walker Alexander III and wife, Jennifer C. of Marietta; sister-in-law, Vereen Alexander of Atlanta; aunt, Mrs. S.D. Clarke of Tallahassee, Fla.; cousins, Nell Ray Rice, Nell Ray and George Lilly, Tommy and Nan Rice all of Thomasville, Raoul and Linda Clarke of Tallahassee, Fla. and Janet and Scott Clarke of Columbia, S.C. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Walker Alexander Jr.; daughter, Elise Bailey Shepherd; and an uncle, S.D. Clarke.
