She moved with her family to Florida where she lived in Dunedin from 1973-2000 and in Beverly Hills from 2000-2014 before relocating to Thomasville.
Barbara led a life of service. A lifelong Catholic, she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus and the Council of Catholic Women. She retired from the Pinellas County School System where she served in a variety of roles at several schools and at the district office. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels and as a poll worker for many years. For as long as she was able, Barbara never turned down the opportunity to help others. She will be remembered for her kindness, her love of travel and her love for her grandchildren.
Barbara was blessed to spend sixty-three years with the love of her life, William (Bill) Albert Klug who preceded her in death in 2020. Barbara is also preceded in death by her parents, a son, William (Billy) Mark Klug, and her siblings, Connie Keyes (Bob), Julie Poniwaz, and Patsy Roth (Johnny). A daughter-in-law, Barbara Klug, and a step-grandson, David DeBlare, also preceded her in death. She is survived by three children David Klug (Sara) of Clearwater, Florida, Laura Kornegay (Dusty) of Thomasville, Georgia, and Dawn Klug (Michael Carter) of Arden, North Carolina. She will always be remembered as "Grammy" to her grandchildren, Lizzie Smith (Joel), Emily Baig, and C'lee Bishop (Joey), her great-grandchildren Myles William Smith and Leo Samuel Smith, and her step-grandchildren Jennifer DeBlare, Mary DeBlare Moreno, Travis Cook, Julie Cook, and Kevyn Mary Carter-Long. She will also be remembered by many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her sweet dog, Taco Belle who gave her comfort, love, and many licks in her declining years. The family would like to thank Barbara's neighbor and dear friend Alice Winland, and caregivers Kathy Gaiyus and Tracy Boutwell for helping to make her final days as comfortable as possible. The family is also grateful to Archbold Hospice.
The family will receive visitors at Allen and Allen Funeral Home from noon to 1:00 pm on Friday, May 15. A funeral mass will follow at St. Augustine Catholic Church at 1:30 pm. A graveside service and burial will be held on Thursday, May 28, at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery in Waterford, Wisconsin.
