Barbara Jean Knapp

Funeral services for Barbara Jean Knapp, 77, of Thomasville will 10:00AM, Friday, July 6, 2018 at First Baptist Church Chapel. Rev. Andy Daughtry will officiate and interment will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Knapp passed away on June 29, 2018 at her residence. Born September 21, 1940 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, she was the daughter of the late William and Cleo King. She worked as a certified medical assistant at Dr. James P. Taylor’s office and was also a nurse at Wynnstead Plantation. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Thomasville where she was in the adult choir and Young at Heart Choir. She and her dog, Zack, were part of the pet Therapy Program at Hospice of Southwest Georgia. Survivors include, daughter Janis Pritchett and husband Doug of Pike Road, Alabama; son, Joe A. Knapp and wife Kristen of Tallahassee; grandchildren, Kristina Marie Pickett and husband Anthony, Stacey Lawrence Gantt and husband Walker, Dalton Joseph Knapp and Colby William Knapp; great grandchildren, William Joseph Gantt, Lula-Ryleigh Gantt, and Paetynn Danielle Pickett. She was preceded in death by her brother Charles King. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Georgia, 114 Mimosa Drive, Thomasville, GA and Georgia Living at Home, 2022 E. Pinetree Blvd., Thomasville, GA 31792. The family will receive friends 5:00PM until 7:00PM on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the funeral home.
