Services for Barbara McLeod Scoggin, 76, of Thomasville will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 12, 2010 at Allen and Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Glen Scoggin will officiate and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery on Maryland Street. Mrs. Scoggin passed away Feb. 9 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born, April 22, 1933 in Statesville, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Oscar Boyd and Eloise Thompson McLeod. She was married to Lewis Glendon Scoggin, Jr., who preceded her in death. She was a member of Hilltop Bible Baptist Church in Cairo. She and her husband were partners in their construction business and in their later years they began a woodworking business called the Woodsmith. Survivors include children, Stacey Dye and husband, Dennis of Thomasville, Pastor Glen Scoggin and wife, Cindy of Meigs and Sunny Gay and husband, Ken of Thomasville; Grandchildren, Jennifer Taylor and husband, Rob, Christy Layfield and husband, Scott, Jessica Moore and husband, Hayden, Dustin Scoggin, Charles Gay, Amber Williams and husband, Shawn and Tim Dye and wife, Dana; great-grandchildren, Kendall Moore, Addison Layfield, Emily Williams, Allison Dye and Zach Dye; brother, Oscar Boyd McLeod and wife, Cam of Taylors, S.C. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Thomasville - Thomas County Humane Society, 180 Big Star Drive, Thomasville, GA. 31757.
