Barbara Ann Pettis Kopf

Memorial service for Barbara Ann Pettis Kopf, 76 of Thomasville, GA., are at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 15, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prattville, AL. Father Charles Troncale will officiate. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10AM-11AM in the social hall, and a reception will follow after the service. Barbara passed away July 12, 2011 at her residence after a long illness. Born July 7, 1935 in Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Winston Pettis and Irene Williams Nelson. She was married to Grady S. Kopf for 35 years and is preceded in death by him. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Sammy Pettis, Mother Irene Nelson, Father Winston Pettis and niece Starlyn Pettis. Barbara lived in Prattville for 40 years and was an active parishioner of St. Joseph serving on numerous committees including the bereavement committee. Barbara was well loved and known to many in Prattville and Thomasville as "GG". She loved cooking, visiting with friends over a cup of coffee, shopping, her dear dog Bama, Alabama football, and especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends whom she cherished, especially her caregiver Teresa who was devoted to her for the last year. Survivors include two sons and a daughter David S. Kopf and wife Jenny of Fairhope, AL, and grandchildren Katie, Kendall, Ann Grady, Sammy R. Kopf and wife Chris of Prattville, AL, and grandchildren Sarah Ann, Molly, and Laura, and Suzanne Kopf Martin and husband Jeff of Thomasville, GA, and grandchildren Johnathon and Geoffrey, and nephew Geary Long and wife Lois of Newcastle, WA.
