Memorial services for Barbara Inez Henderson, 77, Granny Barbara will be held at 4:00PM on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Henderson, known to her family as Bobby, passed away into God's hands on September 27, 2013 from natural causes. She was born July 19, 1936 in Metcalf, Ga to James J.T. and Norma Daniels. She attended Thomasville High School and was a member of Pavo United Methodist Church. Barbara lived in Bainbridge, Ga for several years and then moved with her family to Texas and then back to Thomasville where she lived from 1989 until 2013. Barbara spoke fondly of the time she spent at Mom & Dad's Italian Restaurant. She cherished the many experiences and many special people she met during these years. Barbara worked hard to support her family and spent many years raising four of her grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her zest for life and was a living example of a strong independent woman. She never met a stranger. Known for her brave "tell it like it is" style, her smile, never give up attitude, and spirit, made her a hero to many. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Alma Lee Norman and Doris Rayburn and daughter Teresa Griffin. Surviving is her sisters Jeannine Daniel of Pavo, Ga and Sue Cone of Thomasville, Ga.; children Neil Daniels of Madison, Fl., Debra Bacon of Ashford, Al, Buddy Earnest of Bainbridge, Ga. and Steven Griffin of Akron, Ohio; also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:00 – 4:00PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bethany Hospice at 2517 Bemis Rd. Suite D, Valdosta, Ga. 31602 or to Pavo United Methodist Church at P.O. Box 97, Pavo, Ga. 31778. Guest may sign the online register at www.allenfh.com
