Barbara L. Sheak Dunifon

Barbara L. Sheak Dunifon, 85, formerly of Thomasville, GA went to be with her Lord, August 13, 2013, in Plant City, Florida. Born June, 16, 1928, in North Manchester, Indiana, She attended Manchester College, majoring in journalism. Barbara acquired a position at The Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, where she met Gene Dunifon. Gene became her husband of 62 happy years. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Dallas Norris, Antioch, Florida, her son Patrick Dunifon and daughter-in-law Susan, Lakeland, Florida, and grand daughter, Jennifer Dunifon, Lakeland, Florida. Barbara always found time to volunteer in her children's Scouting activities, and Bible School. Later, she was helpful with Gene's Adult Scouting events. Barbara was employed as an interior decorator in several Thomasville stores. As a member of the Countess Vandal Club, Thomasville Garden Club, Inc., Barbara won several blue ribbons during Rose Shows. Her love of flowers began her "Floral Memories" dried floral picture business. Barbara was a active member of Golden Pod Writers Group, the Thomasville Chapter of the Georgia Writers Association. A loving Wife, a wonderful Mother and Mother-in-law, and a proud Grandmother, we will miss her. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, August 26, 2013, in the Chapel of First United Methodist Church, 425 N. Broad St., Thomasville, Georgia.
