Graveside services for Barney Greek, 80, of Cairo will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday February 23, 2017 in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Rev. John Greek will officiate. Active pallbearers are Buck Taylor, Lamar Markham, Phillip Greek, Matthew Greek, Daniel Greek, and Shiloh Hart. Honorary pallbearers are Kenny Lairsey and Mark Long. Mr. Greek passed away on February 18, 2017 at his residence. Born May 22, 1936, he was the son of the late John Daniels Greek and Emily Johnson Greek. He loved watching NASCAR, fishing and was an avid FSU fan. He loved to dance and was the life of the party when gathered with family and friends. Mr. Greek was married to Judith Keefe Greek who preceded him in death on January 23, 2009. Survivors include sons Jimmy Greek and wife Renee of Cairo, Robert Greek and wife Tracy of Thomasville, Michael Greek and wife Donna of Thomasville; grandchildren Phillip Greek, Matthew Greek, Ashley Greek, Amber Hart (Shiloh), Krista Sparks (Alex), Daniel Greek, Erika Greek, Emily Greek and Anna Greek; great grandchildren Carmen, Jayden, Ava, Audrey, Addie, Houston; siblings Annie Rizer, Ruthie Thomas, Bill Greek, Danny Greek; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son Danny Greek. His family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Thursday morning from 9:00-10:30AM.
