Services for Benjamin T. Cook, Jr., 80, of Ochlocknee will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Boston Church of God. Pastor David Douglas will officiate. Mr. Cook passed away February 13, 2024 at Archbold Hospital. Born September 5, 1943 in Berlin; he was the son of the late Benjamin T. Cook, Sr and Bessie Overstreet Cook. He was married to Barbara Bailey Cook, who survives. Mr. Cook was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam in 1967-1969, he was a member of the Boston Church of God and he served as a troupe leader for the Boy Scouts. He grew up as a farmer. He later became a contractor who built and remodeled historic homes. He enjoyed playing the guitar, hunting and fishing. Other survivors include his children, Benjamin T. Cook, III of Ochlocknee, Rebecca Cook of Valdosta, Jonathan Cook and wife Jill of Statesboro, Elizabeth Cook of Thomasville and Alicia Cook of Thomasville; grandchildren, Nathan Cook, Grace Cook and Ben Samples; sister, Carolyn White of Dixie; brothers, Jim Cook of Griffin and Terry Cook of Dixie.
