Benjamin Lee Mills Sr.

A funeral service for Benjamin Mills will be held at 11am on Friday, September 9, 2022, at Allen & Allen Celebration of Life Chapel. Visitation will be from 10am-11am prior to the service. Benjamin Lee Mills, Sr. passed away on September 2, 2022, in Thomasville, Ga. He was born July 2, 1936 in McFarlan, North Carolina, son of the late Charles Napier Mills and Margie Ellen Northcutt Mills. He served in the U.S. Marines and with the Tallahassee Police Department. After retiring from the Tallahassee Police Department he joined the Georgia Department of Corrections. Benjamin married Dorothy Faulk Mills in Thomasville in February of 1991. He enjoyed motorcycles, Nascar Racing, camping, and Alabama and FSU football. Benjamin especially loved his cat, Ms. Kitty, and spending time with his family and friends; which he had a lot of because he never met a stranger. He leaves behind to cherish his memory daughters Myra Ellen (Marcus) Stinson, and Angela (Tony) Mills; grandchildren Sarah (Benjamin) Bratton, Trevor (Betsye) Stinson, Danielle Daniels, and Byron Daniels; great-grandchildren Daniel Bratton, Jonah Bratton, Naomi Grace Bratton, Tally Sue Mills, and Benjamin Daniels; brothers Pierce Mills, George (Betty) Mills, Gary (Jean) Mills, and Paul (Gail) Mills; and sisters-in-law Aletha Mills, and Faye Mills. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dorothy, son Benjamin Lee Mills, Jr. "Benjie", and siblings Ruth Meriwether, Charles "Red" Mills, John Mills, and Curtis Mills. Pallbearers will be Marcus Stinson, Trevor Stinson, Benjamin Bratton, Burl Lashley, Rod Carroll, Fred Nichols; Jr. Pall Bearers will be Daniel and Jonah Bratton. Interment will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
