Services for Bernice Edward Griffin of Coolidge are at 11:00AM on Friday, November 15, 2002, at Big Ochlocknee Baptist Church where he was a member. Rev. Harold Pullen & Rev. Mike Keown & Rev. Richard Shipp will officiate with interment in Big Ochlocknee Cemetery. Pallbearers are grandsons. Mr. Griffin died November 12, 2002 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born November 20, 1927 in Thomas Co., Ga., he was the son of the late Robert Lee & Jessie Pippins Griffin. On June 16, 1946 in Athens, GA., he married Peggy McEver Griffin who survives. He was retired from the Agriculture Dept. with the State of Georgia. He was a deacon at Big Ochlocknee Baptist Church and he graduated from high school and attended college at the Georgia Military College in Milledgeville, GA. Other survivors include sons & daughters-in-law, Ronnie & Barbara Griffin, Johnny & Judy Griffin, Steve & Carol Griffin, daughter & son-in-law, Kitty & Earl Griner all of Coolidge; grandchildren, Kelly Smith, Chris Griffin Ray, Dusty Griffin, Sean Griffin, Matthew Griffin, Brett Griffin, Anna Griffin, Ashley Singletary, Tanner Singletary, Victoria Singletary, Amy Griner & Dusty Griner; great grandchildren, Garrett Smith & Makenzie Smith; sisters, Reba Smith of Ochlocknee & Joyce Richter of Albany, GA. Memorials may be made to the Big Ochlocknee Baptist Church Fellowship Hall Fund. The family will receive friends from 5:30 - 7:30PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
