Funeral Services for Mrs. Bernice G. Lindsay Land, 81, of Hartwell, GA formerly of Thomasville will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Mike Griffin will officiate and interment will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Land died Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at Hart County Hospital.
Born October 5, 1924 in Grady County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late David Lindsay and Katie Lindsay Rich. She was a retired Cosmetologist. She was a member of First Newark Baptist Church, Thomasville, GA.
Her survivors include: Son, Rev. Mike Griffin and his wife Liza of Hartwell, GA; Daughter, JoAnn G. Martin and her husband Terry of Donalds, SC; Two sisters, Sue Ferrell of Thomasville, GA, Artie Mae Tyler of Albany, GA, and Six grandchildren, Brian Varnedore of Thomasville, GA, Bobby Varnedore of Thomasville, GA, Mary Michal Ferguson of Hartwell, GA, Sarah Griffin of Hartwell, GA, Kristen Griffin of Hartwell, GA, and Mike Griffin, Jr of Hartwell, GA; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three husbands, Ralph Griffin, Bogan Phinazee and Cecil Land; Brother, Buddy Lindsay; Sister, Evelyn Tuggle.
The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7 to 9:00 p.m. at Allen & Allen Funeral Home. Flowers are optional; memorials may be made to Liberty Baptist Church, P.O. Box 811, Hartwell, GA 30643.
