Services for Bernice Lashley Burgess of Thomasville are 1:00 pm, Friday, November 10, 2006 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Merrill Coram will officiate and interment is in Beulah Baptist Cemetery, in Dothan Alabama. Mrs. Burgess died Nov. 8, 2006 at the Pelham Parkway Nursing Home, in Pelham, Ga. Born Dec. 13, 1912, in Houston County, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Tom Lashley and Dolia Hatcher Lashley. On April 8, 1933, in Ozark, Ala., she married Floyd M. Burgess who preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 1985. Mrs. Burgess was a restaurant manager at the Trailways Bus Station. She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church, in Thomasville, Ga. Survivors include brother, R. B. Lashley of San Antonio, TX.; sister, Estelle L. Davis of Ruskin, Fl.; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
