Services for Bertha Katherine Russell Chestnut, 73, of Thomasville, are at 3 p.m., Monday, March 17, 2008, at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. Interment is in Sleepy Hill Cemetery in Lakeland, Fla. Mrs. Chestnut died March 15 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born December 7, 1934, in Cashiers, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Jesse Lee and Pearl Mae Rochester Russell. She was married to Alton Bion Weeks who preceded her in death. She later married Albert J. Chestnut, who also preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Lakeland, Fla. Survivors include daughter, Linda Ricks of Thomasville; grandchildren, Ashley Pastrana of Lakeland and Mikey Ricks of Thomasville; sister, Bessie Moses of Franklin, N.C.; brother, Johnnie Russell of St. Louis, M.O.
