Bertha Miller Brooke was born May 6, 1907, to Frank and Pearl Brown in Kansas City, Kansas. She married Thomas Henry Brooke, December 2, 1939, in Pueblo, Colorado. Ms. Brooke passed away Sunday, September 25, 2011, and is survived by her husband, Tom of Thomasville, Georgia; three sons Clarence W. Rose Brooke, Yountville, California; Jerry K. Lucy Brooke, Thomasville, Georgia; and Thomas S. Sherry Brooke, Waunakee, Wisconsin. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jeff Joanne Brooke, Mt. Vernon, Washington; Kellie Jim Meier, Vacaville, California; Guy Barbara Brooke, Naches, Washington; Jerry Kirk Brooke, Jr., Thornton, Colorado; Patrick Thomas Sandy Brooke, Hudson, Colorado; Scott Daniel Brenda Brooke, Midwest City, Oklahoma; and Matthew Brooke, Waunakee, Wisconsin; twelve great-grandchildren, Steve, Shane and Sara Meier, Vacaville, California; Tiffany White, Spokane, Washington; Ashley Robinson, Liberal, Kansas; Shantel and Nicklas Brooke, Denver, Colorado; Richard Brooke, Hudson, Colorado; Austin James and Nash Riley Brooke, Midwest City, Oklahoma; and Breanna Rose and Ryan Jeffrey Brooke, Mt. Vernon, Washington, and several nieces and nephews as well as grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and a brother. Ms. Brooke lived in Colorado most of her life, moving to Thomasville eight years ago. She was a resident at Camellia Gardens until her passing at the age of 104. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, October 1, 2011, at First Newark Baptist Church, 225 Russell Road, Thomasville, Georgia, at 11:00 AM. Pastor Steve Brooks will officiate. Arrangements are being handled by Allen and Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the First Newark Baptist Church building fund, 225 Russell Rd, Thomasville, Ga 31757 or Families of Fallen Soldiers, 2207 Concord Pike unit 429, Wilmington, DE 19803.
