Funeral services for Bettie P. McKibben will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 3, 2003, at Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Dunn and Rev. W.J. Plymel officiating. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery. Pallbearers are Donnie Owens, Zack Clark, Edward Vonier, Bill Gunnels, Randy Newberry, Payton Redfearn, Bill Pafford, and Steve Clark. Mrs. McKibben died on March 1, 2003 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 16, 1934 in Thomas County to the late William Pafford and Katie Owens Pafford who survives. She was retired from the food services department at Southwestern State Hospital, was of Baptist faith, and was a member of the Pastime Quilters of Patten. On June 15, 1954 she married Austin McKibben of Thomasville who survives. Other survivors include her son Buddy McKibben of Pavo,; daughters and sons-in-law Patty & Bobby Simmons of Moultrie, Kim & Derek Evans of Thomasville, mother Katie Pafford of Boston,; grandchildren Candace Nicole Simmons, Daniel Simmons, Matt Huffman, and Brice Evans; sisters Margaret Vonier of Pavo, Mary Frances Williams of Monticello, Tommie Vick of Boston, Martha Clark of Dixie,; and brother Pete Owens of Thomasville. She was preceded in death by brothers Walter Pafford, Austin Pafford, and Bobby Pafford. The family will recieve friends on Sunday, March 2, 2003 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
