Betty Willis Cook, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, entered peacefully into eternal rest on September 14, 2020 at her home in North Fort Myers, Florida. She was 96.
Betty was born on April 9, 1924 in Molena, Georgia to parents, Charlie Rob and Cora Lillian Willis. She married the love of her life, Jesse Linton Cook, on October 13, 1943 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Betty raised four children before earning a Master of Science Degree from Florida International University and becoming a Registered Dietician. She was the Director of Food Services for Coral Ridge Psychiatric Hospital, among others throughout her career.
She was also active in her faith as a member of Grace United Methodist Church at the Fort Myers Central Campus. She had been a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Lee County Genealogical Society, and the American Dietetic Association.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Jesse on May 24, 1998, as well as her son, Thomas Jeffry Cook on August 27, 2020. She will be dearly missed by her three surviving children, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
The family plans to hold a Celebration of life for Betty at a later date.
