Graveside service for Betty Nunnally Cook will be at 10am on Friday, September 17, 2021, at Laurel Hill Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Wills officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7pm Thursday at Allen & Allen Celebration of Life Chapel. Betty Nunnally Cook, age 88, passed away on September 14, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 3, 1933, in Thomasville, GA. She graduated from Thomasville High School in 1951 and graduated from the University of Georgia where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. She was the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. M.T. Nunnally Jr. and the sister of the late Matthew Talbot Nunnally III. She married James Lee Cook on July 14, 1957 and taught aerobics and swimming at the W.R. Milton YMCA for many years before becoming manager of The Diet Center. She then became a kindergarten teacher at the First Presbyterian Church. In 1987, she obtained her real estate license and went to work with Nunnally & Associates as a real estate agent and later continued her real estate career with First Thomasville Realty until she retired. She was a lifetime member of the Thomasville First United Methodist Church.
Betty had a natural love for children and animals. Her kind heart and sensitivity touched many. She is survived by her husband Lee; daughter Julie Cook Collins (Lee), of Thomasville, her son Tim Cook of Thomaston; 4 grandchildren Brooke Collins Ray (Tyler) of Valdosta, Hannah Collins of Carrollton, Avery and Bryce Cook of Thomaston; sisters-in-law Barbara Nunnally of Thomasville and Faye Raiford of Monroe; cousin Nancy Pugh of Thomasville; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Thomasville First Methodist Church, the Thomas County Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
