Betty Jean Hurst Hobbs

Services for Betty Jean Hurst Hobbs, 61, of Ochlocknee, are at 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 5, 2009, at Allen and Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Mitch Clements will officiate and interment is in Ochlocknee City Cemetery. Pallbearers are Charlie Gandy, Dale Hurst, Terry Henderson, Tony Anderson, Marvin Dozier and Elvis Key. Mrs. Hobbs died Aug. 2 at her residence. Born March 5, 1948, in Thomas County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Dale and Alpha Carter Hurst. Mrs. Hobbs was a waitress at the Market Diner. Survivors include son, Jeff Hobbs of Ochlocknee; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Darlene Hobbs of Ochlocknee; grandchildren, Katelyn Hobbs, Emily Hobbs and Jeffrey Hobbs; great-granddaughter, Audrey Hobbs; brother, Thomas Hurst of Jacksonville, Fla.; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by siblings, Leon Hurst, Inez Key and Jerry Hurst. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
