Betty Ruth Mercer

Graveside services for Betty Ruth Crosby Mercer, 73, of Thomasville will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday June 16, 2015 on Oklahoma St. in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Rev. Gary Holland and David Roberson will officiate. Mrs. Mercer died at her home on June 13, 2015 in Thomasville. Born August 15, 1941 in Pavo, GA, she was the daughter of the late Mathie David and Bobbie Lee Inman Crosby. She was married to the late Noah Mercer. Mrs. Mercer worked for Jack Rabbit Foods and was a member of Victory Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter and son in law, Cathy and Howard Miller of Thomasville, a daughter, Theresa Sheffield Davis of Thomasville and a son and daughter in law, Donnie and Katrina Mercer of Stafford, VA. Also surviving are grandchildren Colby Cone, Kelly Martinez, Paul Mercer, Andrew Mercer, Chris Sheffield, Ashley Thompson, Quinton Waters, Caitlin Murrell, Cory Waters and great grandchildren Ciny and Greyson Martinez, Jaci Cone, Linley Cone, Prince Banks, Paige Banks, Kendall, Caleb and Kaeden Sheffield, Scarlett Murrell, Nathaniel Murrell, Jr., Elliot Murrell, Georgia Bell Waters and Gideon Waters. Other survivors include brothers, John Wayne Crosby of Tampa, Robert Crosby of Thomasville, Tony Crosby of Tampa, and sisters Rita Crosby Lynch of Tampa and Sue Clements of Macon. She was preceded in death by brothers, Sonny Crosby, Randall Crosby and a sister Norma Jean Crosby. The family would like to give a special thanks to Jesse Crosby a nephew of Mrs. Mercer for being there to help over the past few months.
