Services for Betty Fulcher Strickland, 87 of New Port Richey, Fl, formally of Thomasville will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Mike Keown will officiate and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chase Strickland, Chad Strickland, Jason Smith, Corey Nesbitt, Van Fulcher, Roy Fordham and 3 honorary pallbearers. Mrs. Strickland passed away December 21, 2014 in New Port Richey. Born August 28, 1927 in Fayetteville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Lewis A. Fulcher and Betty Stanley Fulcher. She was married to Franz M. Strickland who preceded her in death. She was a loving wife, best mother in the world and an awesome grandmother, sister and aunt. She is survived by daughters, Carol S. Smith and husband Woodson, Debbie S. Hurst and husband Robert; sons, George M. Strickland and wife, Melinda, David Strickland, Steve G. Strickland and wife Jennifer and William “Bill” Strickland and wife, Dorothy; sister, Barbara “Sue” Fordham; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold Heath, Jonathan “Presh” Heath and Lewis Fulcher and sisters, Pauline H. Sessoms and Maxine F. Bunce. The family would like to thank Bill & Dorothy for their loving care of our Mother for the last 10 years of her life. The family will receive friends Wednesday, 9:30-10:30 before the service.
