Betty Jane Summers, a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on April 29, 2026, at home. Betty was born in Anniston, Alabama, on December 15, 1936, to her mother, Demerest Louise Anderson Farrow.

Betty graduated from Oxford High School in Oxford, Alabama, and furthered her education by attending Jacksonville State University. Betty dedicated many years of her professional life to Archbold as a medical technologist, where she enjoyed working alongside her colleagues. A long-time member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Anniston, she recently embraced the community at First Baptist Church of Thomasville, where she cherished her faith and fellowship.

In her vibrant life, Betty found joy in crafting, reading, and assembling puzzles with friends. She was also an avid collector of porcelain figures and had a passion for reading, traveling, cooking, and loved animals. Above all, Betty's love for her family and friends shone brightly, and her devotion to them was unmatched.

Survivors include her children, Sabrina Summers Higgins (John) of Thomasville and Barney Ross Summers, Jr. of Thomasville; grandchildren, Lindsey Jane Pyle (Gareth), Tyler Ross Ledbetter, and Sabrina Morgan Summers; great-grandchildren, Anna-Claire Pyle, Carter Ray Pyle, and Hampton Bentley Pyle.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Barney Ross Summers, sister, Willow Dean Stephenson, and brothers Earl Johnson and Carl Johnson.

A private family graveside service will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026. A reception for family and close friends will follow at 12 pm at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Sabrina and John Higgins.
