Betty Walter Snellgrove

Betty Walters Snellgrove, 76, of Pelham, died November 2, 2011 at her home. A memorial service will be held on November 13, 2011 at 2:00PM at First Baptist Church of Pelham, 231 Primitive Ave, SW in Pelham Ga. She was born on February 8, 1935 in Worth County to the late Iduce Alexander Walters and the late Beckie Johnson Walters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Florence Walters Johnson. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dr. Carl Ray Snellgrove, three sons, Mike Snellgrove of Huntsville, Alabama, Steve Snellgrove and wife Amelia of Pelham, Glenn Snellgrove and wife Lauren of Huntsville Alabama and one daughter, Diane Snellgrove Smith and husband Bill of Moultrie. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Justin Snellgrove, Nick Snellgrove, James Snellgrove, Julia Smith, Caroline Snellgrove, Diana Snellgrove, Celia Smith and Robert Snellgrove. In addition, she is survived by two sisters, Virginia Causey and Annette Banks and three brothers, Edwin Walters, Malcolm Walters and Jerry Walters. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pelham and a past member of the Pelham Junior Woman's Club and the Civitan Women's Auxiliary. Her past employments included Bracewell Homes as a secretary, the Pelham Board of Education as a Para Professional and a substitute teacher, and finally as the office manager for the Snellgrove Chiropractic Clinic before retirement.
