Services for Betty Washington Stringer, 84 of Thomasville are 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Metcalfe Methodist Church, where she was a member. The Rev. Tegler Greer and Rev. Lance Kindred will officiate and interment will be in Springhill Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Stringer died April 15 at Archbold Hospital. Born August 23, 1923 in Thomasville, she was the daughter of the late Riley Albert & Annie Walden Washington. On September 12, 1947 in Thomasville, she married Harry C. Stringer Sr., who preceded her in death. Survivors include sons, Harry Cecil Stringer Jr. and Kenneth R. Stringer, both of Metcalfe, daughter, Janet S. Clark of Cairo, grandchildren, Jodie Stringer, Erin Stringer, Benjamin Stringer, Daniel Tanner, Jennifer & Taron Lamarr, Brett & Amanda Tanner, Harry C. Stringer III, Dustin Clark, Jared Clark, Tori Stringer, Riley Stringer, brother, Charlie L. Washington of Thomasville, sisters, Mary W. Willis of Quitman. She was preceded in death by son, Charles B. Stringer, brothers, Walter M. Washington, Earl W. Washington, Raymond A. Washington, sisters, Evelyn W. Campbell and Nell W. Phelps.
