Beulah F. Singletary

Graveside services for Beulah Singletary, 96, of Ochlocknee will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 28th, 2013 at Ochlocknee City Cemetery. Pastor Andy Frazier will officiate. Mrs. Singletary died on July 26, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Thomasville. She was born August 7, 1916 in Pilot Mountain, North Carolina. Mrs. Singletary attended Ochlocknee United Methodist Church. She was married to the late Nolan Singletary. She grew up in working in the fields of South Georgia. As she grew up, her dedication to her family became even more apparent as she started working night shifts at Coats & Clark to support her family. Mrs. Singletary was a strong woman both in mind and body; she was a sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that was the matriarch of the family. From taking in stray animals, to canning tomatoes and jellies, to making her famous chocolate cakes; she made sure nothing and no one in her life went hungry. She was also a true southern woman, meaning she was a holy woman during the day and a vicious card shark at night with her two sisters playing quarters. She will truly be missed by all. Other survivors include daughter-in-law, Debbie Singletary of Ochlocknee, GA; grandchildren, Derek Lindsey Davis of Atlanta, Georgia, Dawn Matt Plemons of Atlanta, GA; great-grandchildren, Dawson Hallmark, and M.J. Plemons. Mrs. Singletary is preceded in death by her sons, Bruce and Robert Singletary; and daughter, Loreta Davis.
