Services for Mrs. Beulah Phillips Welch, a long time resident of Thomasville and more recently of Greensboro, NC, are at 11:00AM on Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Welch passed away December 2, 2005, at High Point Regional Hospital, High Point, NC.
Born in Perry County Indiana on January 17, 1912 she was the daughter of George and Phoebe Phillips who preceded her in death. She had lived in Thomasville since her marriage in 1938 until the death of her husband, Gordon Welch in 1997. She is survived by one remaining sibling, Lowell Phillips of Chicago, Illinois. Mrs. Welch was an active member of The Dawson Street Methodist Church and was well respected as an expert seamstress.
She is survived by her two children: Philip Albert Welch Shirley of Mt. Gilead, NC and Sheri Welch Rapp James of Jamestown, NC. She also leaves four grandchildren; Michael and Christopher Welch, Laura Marlow, Bryan Rapp and four great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to The American Red Cross Greensboro Chapter, 1501 Yanceyville Street, Greensboro, NC 27405 or to The American Heart Association 202-100 Centreport Drive, Greensboro, NC 27409.
