Services for Bill H. Jones, 75, of Thomasville are 2:30 pm, Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Salem Baptist Church, where he was a member. The Rev. Dr. Milton C. Gardner, Rev. Sherman Hall and Rev. William Jones, Jr., will officiate and interment will be in Primitive Baptist Church cemetery. Mr. Jones died June 20, 2009 at Archbold Hospital. Born November 1, 1933 in Hahira, Ga, he was the son of the late Louis Jones and Lucy Hiers Jones. On January 2, 1976 in Columbus, Ind, he married Velma Newby Douglas Jones, who survives. Mr. Jones worked road maintenance for Thomas County Public Works. Other survivors include son Rev. William Jones, Jr., of WI, daughter, Betty Douglas of Ill, sons, Robert Jones of MI, Jim Jones of IN, and Joseph Jones of St. Joe MI, brother Elmer Jones of Stark, Fl, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and care taker Brenda McGuire. He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Ruby Lee, Lester Jones, Eugene Jones, Lewis Jones Jr, Turner Jones, Bobby Jones and Betty Joe Folse and stepson David Douglas.
