Billy Lee Dees

Billy Dees passed away Friday, June 9, 2023. Graveside services will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery (Texas St) on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at 10:00 AM. Reverend Lee Powell will officiate. Billy was born in Brooks County to Bethel and Emmie Lee Dees on May 28, 1936. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Phyllis Dees, son Joe Dees (Michelle), and son David Lloyd (Kannika). He was preceded in death by his son Mark Lloyd. He also leaves behind grandchildren Sarah Lloyd, Brian Lloyd, Danielle Dees, Lindsey Dees, Costin Lloyd, Connor Lloyd, Andrew Lloyd, and Aerial Connell, and great-grandchildren Makenzie Taylor, Hadley Wilson, and Grayson Santiago. Billy worked at Flowers Baking Company for 42 years. After retiring he stayed busy helping people with whatever they needed. He cut grass for neighbors up and down Skyline Dr. whether they asked or not, and was a granddad to all of the kids on our end of the street. He always took the time to help anyone who needed help. Billy tried to live by the golden rule where Jesus says, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
