Billy Dean Lanfair

Billy Dean Lanfair, 86, of Thomasville, passed away on June 30, 2026, at his residence. Billy was born on October 5, 1939, in Colquitt County to the late Wilbur J. Lanfair and Mary Leta Lanfair.

Billy married the love of his life, Dorothy "Elaine" Collins Lanfair, on October 16, 1960, in Meigs, and shared over 65 wonderful years of marriage together. Billy and his wife were devoted members of Meigs Baptist Church. Billy retired from Precision Auto Craft and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include son-in-law Cecil McCann of Thomasville; grandchildren, Amanda W. Hobbs (Timothy Jr.), Allison W. Barwick (Corey), and CJ McCann (Kara); great-grandchildren, Kennon Barwick, Kailyn Barwick, Kaleb Hobbs, Alessa Hobbs, and Emma McCann; sister-in-law Dale Bush of Thomasville and brother-in-law Hank Smidt of Tallahassee.

Billy is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy "Elaine" Lanfair, his daughter, Sonni Lanfair McCann, son Joey D. Lanfair, sister Gayle Smidt, brother-in-law Charles O. Collins, and his parents.

A service will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 10 am at Allen & Allen Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Davis officiating. A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 5, 2026, from 4 - 6 pm at Allen & Allen Funeral Home. Billy will be laid to rest at Meigs Sunset Cemetery next to his wife.
