Billy Joe Norris

Billy Joe Norris, 88, of Thomasville, Georgia passed away on October 17, 2022, in Atlanta, Georgia. Services will be held Friday, October 28th at 4:00 PM at the Allen & Allen Celebration of Life Chapel in Thomasville, Georgia. Bill was born September 16, 1934, in Panama City, Florida, to the late Alfred and Mary Curenton Norris. He attended Bay County High School and was Drum Major of the band. He proudly served in the United States Army. He was a Florida State University Alumni, member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity and FSU Flying High Circus. Bill had a successful banking career where he was the Vice President of Peoples Bank of Tallahassee, President of the Bank of Washington County, President of American National Bank of Panama City, Vice President of Farmers & Merchants Bank of Thomasville, and Area CEO of First Merchants Bank. Additionally, he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Thomasville and the Lions Club. He loved spending time with family and friends, FSU Sports and being on the water. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and first wife of 26 years, Jerry Norris. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jean Norris; son, Joey Norris of Panama City; daughters, Teri Norris Rosa (Tom Rosa) of Peachtree City, Georgia and Sherry Meadows (Terry Wilkinson) of Tallahassee; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
