Services for Blanche Elizabeth Haddock Hathaway Wolf, of Thomasville will be Friday, April 26, 2002 at 12:30 PM at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at 3:30 PM on Friday at Douglas Cemetery in Douglas, GA. Mrs. Wolf died Wednesday, April 24, 2002 at Archbold Memorial Hospital after a extended illness. She was born January 19, 1907, in Douglas, Ga., the daughter of the late Alva & Ada Infinger Haddock. She was the granddaughter of the Rev. & Mrs. C. W. Infinger, founder and first pastor of Douglas Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Douglas Normal School and attended Asbury College in Kentucky and Wesleyan Conservatory, Macon, Ga. She was married to Don Jay Hathaway of Douglas, Ga until his death in 1956. The Hathaways owned and operated Jay's Florist in Douglas for many years. She married the late John Wolf, Jr. of Savannah in 1959, a well known florist. An accomplished pianist and organist, Mrs. Wolf shared her talents with many civic groups and played and directed many weddings in Douglas. Many young people learned to play under her guidance. She and her sister, the late Ruby Haddock Kight played and conducted the music at the early Camp Meeting at Gaskin Springs in Douglas. In Savannah, Mrs. Wolf was active in music and church activities and assisted Mr. Wolf in the florist business. She moved to Thomasville in 1980 and continued in her civic and church work. A member of Morningside United Methodist Church and Thomasville Garden Clubs, Inc., she was manager of the Gift Shop at the Garden Center for several years and continued in floral design. Her survivors are her son Jim Hathaway and his wife Betty; grandchildren Gill Hathaway and wife Kay, Mrs. Stan Caldwell Beth,all of Thomasville, Mrs. Jeff Betros Lynn of Jacksonville, Fl.; six great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews including Mrs. Mary Chambers of Canton, GA and Mr. Ray Kight, Jr. of Douglas. She was prededed in death by a brother, Stanford Haddock of Alexandria, VA and a sister, Ruby Kight of Kite, GA. The family will receive friends at Allen & Allen Funeral Home for 6-7 on Thursday.
