Britney Elizabeth Searcy Shropshire, a beloved wife, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on June 27, 2026, at the age of 31. She was born on December 9, 1994, in Thomasville, Georgia, to her parents, Ronelle Searcy and Denaye Carter Searcy, who survive.

If you knew Britney at all, you know she loved music. She was also very musically talented. She played keyboard in the praise team at Faith Horizon Ministries beginning at the age of 11. She had a very giving heart and loved her husband, sisters, and family, and she always had a heart for anyone who was "down and out" or needed a hand up.

Britney poured her heart into caring for her family, and her love was most evident in her devotion to her husband, Jonathon Shropshire. Together, they built a life founded on love, kindness, forgiveness, and faith. Britney's heart extended beyond her family; she was passionate about helping the homeless and those in need, always seeking ways to uplift those around her. A passionate believer, she was dedicated to sharing the message of Jesus, continually concerned for the well-being of others' souls. Britney cherished her baby dog, Kricket, who brought her immense joy and comfort.

Britney is survived by her loving husband, Jonathon Shropshire of Boston; parents, Ronelle and Denaye Searcy; sisters, Becky Humphries of Ochlocknee and Kristi Resendiz (Michael) of Moultrie; nephew, C.J. Humphries; brother-in-law, John Shropshire of Boston.

A service will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 2 pm at Faith Horizon Ministries,1064 N Pinetree Blvd, Thomasville, GA 31792, with pastor Jeff Christopher officiating. A visitation will be held from 1-2 pm prior to the service.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and cherished memories that will be forever held in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you.

Psalm 139:13-18
