Calena Josephine Bennett

Services for Calena Josephine Bennett, 87, of Thomasville, will be held Sunday, December 22, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Allen & Allen Chapel with Rev. Rick Mann officiating. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Calena passed away on December 15, 2019 at Archbold Hospital. She was born on November 2, 1932 in Boston to the late Willie Rachels and to the late Gussie Calena Gregory Rachels. She was a member of The First Church of the Nazarene where she served as Sunday school daycare assistant. She enjoyed her last years by caring for others, spending time at the Senior Center in Thomasville, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Sue Haggadone, of Pensacola, Florida, Ann Tyler of Thomasville, Lindie Howell, of Ochlocknee, Ruth (Billy) Register of Tallahassee, Florida; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Willie Samuel Rachels, Howard Rachels, Charles Rachels, and Billy Rachels; daughter, Karen Tyler, and grandson, James Lindsey.
