Services for Calvin Donald Martin, 66 of Thomasville will be held at 3PM, Friday, July 14, 2017 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Darrell Owens will officiate. Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Baggett, Justin Rogers, Charles Rehberg, Waymon Martin, Chris Nix and John Mitchell. Mr. Martin passed away July 10, 2017 in Tallahassee. Born October 4, 1950 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Willie Eugene Martin and Dette Wood Martin. On May 4, 1968 he married Peggy Carter Martin, who survives. He worked for Southwestern State Hospital and was a member of Forest Acres Full Gospel Church. He owned Brothers in Christ Lawn Business, where he helped people who needed lawn care, but couldn’t afford it. He enjoyed going to Florida State and Miami football games with his son Shaun. He loved to fish and work on lawn mowers. He had a special bond with his grandson, Brandon and loved to take him fishing and was excited to see his great-grandson, Clayton start walking. Other survivors include daughter, Shannon Baggett and husband Kevin of Pavo; son, Shaun Martin of Thomasville; grandchildren, Kalie Richards and Brandon Baggett; great-grandson, Clayton Rogers; sisters & brothers, Linda Scholbe of St. Louis, Missouri, Eugene Martin of Leesburg, Georgia, Diann Payne of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Tammy Hendricks of Spartanburg, South Carolina and Jimmy Martin of Thomasville. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Scott Martin. The family will receive friends 6-8PM, Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the funeral home.
