Mr. Carter died May 12, 2006 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born January 24, 1935 in Thomasville he was the son of the late Carl R. and Ruth Dixon Carter. He was of the Church of God faith and was a supervisor at Firestone. Mr. Carter was a veteran of the United States Army. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Lamar Walden of Cairo, son and daughter-in-law, Carl Daniel, Jr. and Donna Carter, daughter and son-in-law, Denaye and Ronnie Searcy all of Ochlocknee, son, Donnie Carter of Thomasville; grandchildren, Chastity Bentley, Patches Griffin, Autumn Lane, Tracy Barnes, Richie Carter, Becky Humphries, Kristi Banks, Britney Searcy; eight great grandchildren and sister, Carwe Sherrod of Merrillville.
