Funeral services for Carl Elmer Wilson, Sr. 81 of Boston, will be Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Larry Harris will officiate and interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Wilson died on December 31. Born May 11, 1936 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Brinson and Mayo Kersey Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a lifetime farmer and a member of Salem Baptist Church. He loved bowling and won numerous trophies through the years. In 1989 he and his son Carl won the South Georgia Soil and Water Conservationist of the year. He loved his family and most especially enjoyed watching his son Robert play basketball at the Pavo Gym. He also loved to hunt and fish. He is survived by his wife Barbara Gassett Wilson of Meigs, sons, Carl E. Wilson, Jr of Boston, Tim Wilson of Tallahassee, Robert Wilson of Thomasville, and daughters, Jennifer Murphy of Coolidge, Robin Suber of Moultrie and Dena Harris of Coolidge. Also surviving are brothers, James Wilson, Claude Wilson, Emory Wilson, and Gerald Wilson, sister, Vera Smith and 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Brinson Wilson, Jr., Jack Wilson and Charles Wilson. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 on Tuesday at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
