Carol Gardner

Carol Lee Gardner, age 87, of Boston, Georgia, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025. She was born on September 1, 1937, in West Palm Beach, Florida to the late Hugo and Mildred Berner. Carol was a remarkable individual whose life was marked by dedication, compassion, and an unwavering faith.

In Carol's earlier years, graduated with an Associate's Degree from Polk State College in Winter Haven, Florida, and had a fulfilling career as a registered nurse. Carol's commitment to caring for others extended beyond her profession; she was a devoted member of Ozell United Methodist Church, where she held numerous leadership roles and served as a Bible study leader. At Covenant Presbyterian Church in Winter Haven, Florida, her beautiful voice enriched the church choir, where she inspired many through her love of music.

Throughout her life, Carol engaged in mission work, participating in trips to Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Haiti, where she shared her faith and provided assistance to those in need. She was a woman of many interests, enjoying Bible study, the uplifting music of Bill Gaither, heartwarming Hallmark movies, and the timeless tunes of Elvis Presley.

Survivors include children Doyle Russell Gardner Jr. of Thomasville and Pamela Carol Schminky of Thomasville; sisters Beverly Hatcher of Atlanta and Gail Izzo of Thomasville, followed by 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her son Edward Hugh Gardner and grandson Brandon Smith.

A service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Allen & Allen Celebration of Life Chapel with Kirk Beckham officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, May 30, 2025 from 5-7pm at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
