Carole Woolf Fryar, 87, of Thomasville, Georgia, passed away on October 11, 2026. She was born in Portsmouth, Virginia, on November 5, 1938, to Marion Rountree Woolf and Jimmy Woolf.
Carole made her home in Thomasville in 1972. A devoted homemaker and avid reader, she loved her family and the time they spent together. She and her husband, Russell M. Fryar Jr., married on December 12, 1959, and shared a love of travel and seeing the world. Some of Carole's fondest memories were of growing up at the beach in Portsmouth and, later in life, spending time on Florida's Emerald Coast beaches with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Russell; her children, Sandy Therrien and James Fryar; her grandchildren, Russell M. Fryar III and Branden Therrien; and her great-grandchildren, Brooke Fryar and Cole Fryar. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Worley, and her great-grandson, Hudson Fryar.
A private service for family and invited guests will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church. The family requests no memorial contributions.
