Services for Carolyn Vinton Eidson McCollum are at 4:00 pm on Sunday, Oct 17 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church. The Reverend Stephen Murray will officiate. A family graveside service will be held earlier.
She died at home on Oct 15. The daughter of Phyllis Murray Eidson and Frank Vinton Eidson, she was born July 2, 1928.
She was a graduate of Thomasville High School and attended Wesleyan College. In 1948 she married Dr. William McCollum who preceded her in death. She was a member of the Thomasville Entertainment Foundation, Thomasville Landmarks, the Historical Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, National Society of Colonial Dames of America, several other civic organizations, and was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Carolyn is survived by her children: Phyllis Ann Pam McCollum and Carolyn Murray McCollum of Boulder Colorado, and William James McCollum and his wife Margret McCollum of Thomasville and three grandchildren: Marie McCollum of Jacksonville, Julie McCollum of Atlanta, and Daniel Mills of Boulder. She is also survived by her brother in law, William C. Owen, III and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister Anne Eidson Owen.
