Services for Carolyn Piland Hunt Mathis of Thomasville are at 10:00AM on Monday, August 30, 2010 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. Pastor Mike Nichols will officiate and interment will be in Ochlocknee City Cemetery. Mrs. Mathis passed away August 27, 2010 at her residence. Born February 14, 1939 in Valdosta, GA she was the daughter of the late William L. and Mary Emma Hunnewell Piland. She was a member of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Mathis was a graduate of Coolidge High School and attended Young Harris College. She was a retired shift supervisor for Southwestern State Hospital. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Patrick L. and Amanda Hunt of Cairo, GA, daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca L. and Mike Mock of Ochlocknee, GA, grandchildren, LaShay and Robert Singletary, Marie and David Moore, James Hunt, great grandchildren, Corey Singletary, Connor Singletary, Parker Lirette and Haylee Moore, brothers, Carroll Piland of Boston, GA, Leonard Piland of Valdosta, GA, sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Hartley Falbaum of Loganville, GA. She was preceded in death by a great grandchild, Drake Sheffield. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-5:00PM on Sunday.
