Services for Carrol S. Fort, 86 of Pavo will be held at 2 pm, Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Antioch Baptist Church. Rev. Billy Rogers and Rev. Olen Cain will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Fort passed away October 1, 2018 at Camellia Gardens. He was born September 16, 1932 in Barwick to M.T. Fort and Elther Hunter Fort. He attended and graduated from Pavo High School. His class was the first to attend 12 years. After graduation he signed up for the Navy (Korean Conflict) and was immediately called to active duty. He went to boot camp in San Diego, California. While in the Navy, he met and married the love of his life, Shirley Loviska on August 10, 1956. After service, he returned to the family farm where he raised livestock and row crops. He served 30 years on the ASCD/FSA Committee and served 40 years on the GSCS Commission. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, teacher, Sunday school superintendent and treasurer. He was on the Board of Directors of the Thomas County Farm Bureau and served on the FHA committee. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Fort of Pavo; children, Carrol Fort, Jr. and wife Martha of Pavo, Yvonne Fort of Crawfordville, Florida; granddaughter, Crystal Cardin of Crawfordville, Florida; great-grandchildren, Hunter Laing and Shirley Grace Harvey and sister, Betty Williamson of Coolidge. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Susan Miranda Fort. The family will receive friends 5-7pm, Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
