Services for Carroll F. Whiddon, 83, of Thomasville, are at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. Rev. Max Crapps will officiate and interment is in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the grandsons. Mr. Whiddon died July 31 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born November 15, 1924, in Grady County, he was the son of the late Offa Lee and Annie Paul Johnson Whiddon. He was married to Eunice Horton Whiddon, who survives. Other survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Anne and Billy Brown of Adel, Betty and Marvin Highsmith of Thomasville and Kay and C.J. Kelley of Thomasville; sons, Gary Whiddon and Larry Whiddon both of Cairo; grandchildren, Daphne and Ryan McCormick, Amy Brown, Angela Deese, Jeffery and Stacie Highsmith, Daniel Highsmith, Paul and Belinda Whiddon, Brian and Ginger Whiddon, Carrie and Steve Skeen, Crystal Mitchell, Justin and Christi Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Olivia McCormick, Taylor and Sara Deese, Jeffery and Nicholas Highsmith, Katie Highsmith, Caitlyn Whiddon, Cameron Whiddon and Ryan Whiddon; sisters, Kathleen Johnson of Thomasville and Jeanine Duncan of Mableton; numerous nieces and nephews; longtime family friend, Carlton Powell of Thomasville. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bernard Whiddon.
