Services for Catherine Louise Barker Carter, 91, of Coolidge will be 2 pm, Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ricky Pearson and Pastor Cameron King will officiate and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Pollock, Ray Chason, Rodger Chason, Brandon Osborn, Dennis Beckwith, Nathan Cowan and Daniel Jones. Mrs. Carter passed away April 4, 2012 in Whigham. Born May 22, 1920 in Cordele, she was the daughter of the late Willie Barker and the late Viola Melvin Barker. Mrs. Carter was a retired seamstress at Marshall's in Quitman. She was married to Herbert Wesley Carter who precedes her in death. Survivors include son Leon Cox and wife Dean of Cairo, son Lynton L. Cox and wife Teresa of Moultrie, son David Wolfe and wife Brenda of Moultrie, daughter Joanne Cox of Cairo, and 14 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by a daughter Linda Chastain and grandson Jimmy Lewis. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Friday, April 6, 2012 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
