Cecil Louie Lawhorn, passed away October 22, 2009 at Park Regency in Moultrie, GA. Born April 1, 1923 to Robert W and Charity Lawhorn in Thomas County.
He served in the US Army during WWII and retired from Civil Service at the Marine Corp Logistics Base in Albany, GA in 1986.
He was an active member of the American Legion, the VFW and Lyons Club and served as an Elder and Treasurer in the Pelham Presbyterian Church. He most recently attended the Dillon Presbyterian Church where he attended as a child with his family.
Survived by Charlene Lawhorn of Pelham, GA. Children include; Cecil and Dorothy Dottie Lawhorn Jr. of Thomasville, Larry Lawhorn of Flagler Beach, FL Ken and Leta Lawhorn of Lutz, FL, Angela Lawhorne of Atlanta, Tony and Susan Lawhorne of Kingsland, and Steven and Lori Lawhorne of Moultrie. He also had eleven grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Saturday, October 24, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at Allen & Allen Funeral Home in Thomasville with interment at the Dillon Presbyterian Church cemetery. The Reverends Ron Shiver and Vernon Dillingham will officiate.
Visitation for the family will be Friday, October, 23, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Allen & Allen.
