Charlene Phillips Clyatt passed from her home in Thomasville, GA, to her heavenly home in the early hours of September 30, 2026.
Born in Thomasville, GA, on May 10, 1933, and raised in Bainbridge, GA, with her twin brothers, Frank and Larry Philips, Charlene lived her adult life in Thomasville with her husband, Robert Clyatt, and raised their three children. They were all active members of First Baptist Church, Thomasville.
She served her family and friends well, most often including muffin bread and something with gravy on it.
Her predeceased family includes parents Charlie and Lenna Phillips and husband Robert O. Clyatt, whom she devotedly cared for in his later years.
Surviving family includes daughters Marcia Clyatt Bailey and Charron (Bark) Clyatt Hope, son Rob Clyatt, son-in-law Gerald Bailey, and daughter-in-law (and in-house nurse and caregiver) Robin Clyatt. She has three grandchildren and their spouses and nine great-grandchildren. There are nieces, nephews (who called her Aunt Diddle), a sister-in-law, and some of the most precious friends who are exactly like family and who benefited from Charlene's loyalty, thoughtfulness, and servant heart.
Visitation is scheduled for 2 pm Saturday, Oct 3, 2026, with a service at 3 pm at Allen and Allen Funeral Home, Thomasville, GA.
Please, no flowers. As much as Charlene appreciated the beauty of them it pained her to see them die, hence wasted. For anyone wishing to honor her life, she deemed Georgia Hospice Care and The Storehouse at Heritage Church, Moultrie GA in high regard.
Rest in peace, dear one, and enjoy being in the presence of your Savior. We will miss you and we are assured of how well and deeply you loved us.
