Charles Franklin Bruce, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and lifelong resident of Boston, Georgia, passed away on July 9, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on October 21, 1932, in Boston, GA, Charles was the son of the late Walter Greene Bruce and Mary Ruth Swift Bruce.
Charles served his country in the United States Air Force, patrolling the Panama Canal during the Korean War. After his military service, he became a respected agricultural engineer, dedicating 20 years of his career to Massey Ferguson.
As a longtime member of Boston Baptist Church, Charles was the church's longest-standing member and took great pride in his faith and community involvement. Charles was immensely proud of his hometown of Boston, GA, where he cultivated lasting friendships and made a significant impact on the lives of many.
Charles is survived by his daughter Beth Sweeny (Dr. Mark Sweeny) of Boston; siblings Sara Jackson of Boston, Mike Bruce (Chuck Presti) of Pensacola, and Al Bruce of Savannah; grandson Cole Bruce of Thomasville, followed by numerous nieces and nephews that he loved.
A service will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 11:00 am at Boston Baptist Church with Reverend Tim Phillips officiating.
